This patient has optic disc drusen in both eyes. Optic nerve drusen are abnormal accumulations of protein and calcium salts. Sometimes this can cause an enlarged blind spot and visual field defects. This means extra caution while driving! There is no cure for optic disc drusen, but this must be carefully monitored for more serious complications, such as abnormal blood vessel growth and leakage.
