Devastating VIsion Loss

Did you know that wet macular degeneration can cause devastating vision loss?   It usually starts off as dry macular degeneration and develops when abnormal blood vessels leak fluid.   This patient was treated with Avastin shots to prevent the growth of these blood vessels. This patient also had a retinal detachment, which required surgery.
